Patrick Brunet est né en 1958 à Valence dans la Drôme où il a découvert la photographie à l’âge de 15 ans. Depuis 1988, il est professeur d’ingénierie mécanique dans un lycée polyvalent. Il est diplômé de l’université de Grenoble (maîtrise des sciences et techniques des matériaux et maîtrise de technologie) et titulaire de l’agrégation de sciences industrielles de l’ingénieur (option ingénierie mécanique). Il a d’abord exposé à la galerie Contrejour à Paris en 1992, puis au SIRP de Royan en 1994, avant de mettre cette activité entre parenthèses pendant vingt ans pour se consacrer à son métier d’enseignant. Profondément marqué par l’impact qu’a eu la Seconde Guerre mondiale sur sa famille, il développe depuis quelques années des séries qui tournent autour de ce thème. Ses séries « The secret laboratory » et « My father's dream » ont été exposées respectivement au festival ManifestO de Toulouse en 2021 et aux Boutographies de Montpellier en 2023 (projection du Jury).
Patrick Brunet was born in 1958 in Valence in the French department of Drôme where he discovered photography at the age of 15. Since 1988, he has been a mechanical engineering teacher in a comprehensive high school. He graduated from the University of Grenoble (Master of Science and Techniques of Materials and Master of Technology) and holds the Aggregation of Industrial Engineering Sciences (Mechanical Engineering option). He first exhibited at the Contrejour Gallery in Paris in 1992 then at the SIRP of Royan in 1994. He put aside photography for 20 years to devote himself to his teaching career. Deeply affected by the impact of the Second World War on his family, he has been developing series around this theme for several years now. His series "The secret laboratory" and " My father's dream" were exhibited respectively at the ManifestO Festival in Toulouse in 2021 and at the Boutographies in Montpellier in 2023 (projection du Jury).
